WKN USA, LLC renamed to BayWa r.e. Wind, LLC
Effective February 27, 2013, WKN USA, LLC legally changed its name to BayWa r.e. Wind, LLC. The company has been an active member of the BayWa r.e. renewable energy group (BayWa r.e.) since August 2011 and is based in San Diego, California. Since March 2013 BayWa r.e. holds a 95% shareholding in BayWa r.e. Wind, LLC.
Florian Zerhusen (CEO BayWa r.e. Wind, LLC ) and his team of eight professionals is focused and specialized in the development and realization of wind energy projects in North America. BayWa r.e. previously announced that it has brought its first two U.S. wind projects online in December 2012. In Texas, it completed its Mozart project utilizing twelve Nordex N100 2,5MW turbines and in Palm Springs, California its Wagner project using two Vestas V90 3MW turbines. Both projects are owned and operated by BayWa r.e..
BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of BayWa AG (Munich), is responsible for BayWa group’s renewable energy business. BayWa r.e. was founded in 2009 and acts as a holding company for various business interests in the areas of solar, wind energy, bio-energy and geothermal energy. BayWa r.e.’s business activities range from project development and realization to retail and consulting services. In the services sector, BayWa r.e. covers the entire spectrum of technical plant support. If desired, it can also undertake the commercial and technical operations management of plants. The company has an international focus with its core markets in Europe and the USA. BayWa AG is a trading company operating on an international platform.
